Ben Stiller

Bio:
Ben Stiller (born Benjamin Edward Meara Stiller on November 30, 1965 in New York City, New York) is an American actor, comedian and filmmaker. Born into a comedy family, Ben had a show-biz upbringing, traveling a lot to join his parents on different sets. Ben displayed his interest in filmmaking at an early age, making Super 8 movies with family and friends. He made his acting debut at age 9, appearing on his mother’s short-lived television series, Kate McShane. After graduating high school, Ben enrolled into the film school of UCLA, but returned to NYC after only nine months. His short-film parody of the movie The Color of Money gained him a job as a performer and writer on Saturday Night Live in 1989. He left after four episodes. He then launched The Ben Stiller Show for MTV. Though it was cancelled after one season, Fox picked up a second version of the Ben Stiller Show, which gained him the Emmy award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Program. This second version of his show featured Judd Apatow, Janeane Garofalo, Andy Dick and Bob Odenkirk. Ben’s comedic acting career took off due to his roles in There’s Something About Mary in 1998, Meet the Parents in in 2000 and Zoolander in 2001. Over the next decade, Ben had notable appearances in movies like The Royal Tenebaums, Along Came Polly and the Night at the Museum movies. In 2015, Ben announced that he and Owen Wilson are working on Zoolander 2. The film will feature a huge cast, including Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig.

Personal Life:
Ben is the son of comedians Jerry Stiller (known for playing George Constanza’s father on Seinfeld) and Ann Meara. Ben has been romantically linked to many actresses, including Calista Flockhart and Amanda Peet. He married Christine Taylor in 2000, but they announced their separation on May 26, 2017. They have two children: daughter Ella Olivia and son, Quinlin Dempsey. Ben is active in supporting animal rights. He is also a self-professed Trekkie and has included Star Trek references in his work.
