Ben Foster (born Benjamin Foster on October 29, 1980 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American actor. According to Ben, his parents were “Vietnam-protesting hippies” who supported his, and his brother’s, career in the arts. Ben began working as an actor at the age of 16. He dropped out high school, and moved to Los Angeles where his career took off. Ben has had consistent work since 1996, with his first onscreen project being TV series Flash Forward. He auditioned for Jake Gyllenhaal‘s role in Donnie Darko, but didn’t get it.
Best Known For:
Ben has had many memorable acting roles. In the early 2000’s, Ben starred in the romantic comedy, Get Over It, and drama TV series, Six Feet Under. More recently Ben has appeared in X-Men: The Land Stand as Angel, and Alpha Dog.
Personal Life:
Ben and his girlfriend, Laura Prepon, announced their engagement on Oct. 5, 2016 and news that they were expecting their first child broke on Jan. 23, 2017. Before meeting Laura, Ben was in a relationship with actress Robin Wright, whom he met in 2012. The former couple were engaged twice, but never made it to the altar. Ben’s younger brother, Jon, is also an actor.
