Bio:
Awkwafina (born Nora Lum in New York City, NY) is an American rapper, comedian, TV host and actress. She was born to a first-generation Chinese-American father and South Korean immigrant mother. She began to play the trumpet in high school and as trained in classical and jazz music. She started rapping at age 17. Her solo album, Yellow Ranger, was released on February 11, 2014, including single “NYC Bitches.” She currently hosts a short-form talk show called Tawk on go90. In 2014, Awkwafina was added to the cast of the third season of Girl Code. In 2016, she appeared in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising and starred in the indie comedy Dude. It was most recently announced that she would join the mostly female cast of Ocean’s 8.

Personal Life:
Awkwafina’s mom died when she was four years old, and she became very close with her mother. She has said she found herself very lonely as a child and took to reading as a pastime. She has listed Charles Bukowski, Joan Didion and Chet Baker among her inspirations.
