Demi Lovato released her new album, Demi, on May 14 and a new track, “Shouldn’t Come Back,” has fans raising their eyebrows and suspecting it may be about Demi’s on-again/off-again boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.

In the new song, Demi, 20, sings, “Stop right now, you’ll only let me down. oh oh. Maybe you shouldn’t come back.” So controversial!

While Demi has tried to keep her dating live private, she and Wilmer have been spotted together during a number of occasions over the last year.

Wilmer, 33, visited his former flame on the set ofThe X Factor on Nov. 8, further igniting rumors that he and Demi rekindled their relationship. Also, they were reportedly seen together during a private event at Bagatelle LA on Sept. 12 in West Hollywood.

We may have a heart attack when we hear Demi Lovato’s new song. Get it? OK, please excuse my sorry excuse for humor. But in all honesty, Demi’s songs are always huge smash hits, so there’s no doubt that “Heart Attack” will have the same chart-topping success. We can only hope that Demi will reveal who the song is about — could it be Wilmer Valderrama, whom she’s rumored to be dating again? 

The song is about “falling in love and like taking that risk, but she’s terrified. And she, I mean me…” Demi tells MTV.

The X Factor judge continues, “I think everyone comes to a point where they feel very vulnerable when falling in love and that’s what I’m talking about.”

Demi Lovato’s New Single, ‘Heart Attack’

On Feb. 12, Demi, 20, tweeted, “My new single #HeartAttack available March 4,” and shared a link to a teaser clip of her new song.

In the YouTube video, Demi says she “opened up more” on her new album, and describes the songs as “the celebration of life and how rewarding it can be.”

The song will debut on Ryan Seacrest‘s morning radio show, On Air With Ryan Seacrest, on March 4.

Wilmer & Demi Back Together?

Demi Lovato just wrapped up her stint as a judge on The X Factor and now, she’s taken to twitter to focus on her personal life. But is everything ok? Could she be sending Wilmer Valderrama a message? Or is she just giving her fans good love and life advice? YOU be the judge!

Demi’s on-again/off-again relationship with Wilmer, 32, was fueled when he was spotted on The X Factor set on Nov. 8 and again on Nov. 17, 2012.

But we’re unsure of the status of their relationship after Demi had this mini twitter meltdown.

On Dec. 3, she tweeted, “Patience + communication = trust When you learn how to communicate with others, there’s almost no problem you can’t solve.” She added, “P.S. Only surround yourself with people who you CAN communicate with. Trust is a bond between TWO people that is found ONLY when they are able to listen/understand where the other person is coming from. That to me, is the key to friendships/ relationships.”

Demi, who relies heavily on her Lovatics and always puts her fans first, continued on, saying, “Sometimes, I just read my @replies and cry. My fans are SO good to me… It’s magical.. I love you all. ❤”

And now, a hot new picture of the couple suggests that the reunion may be official.

Wilmer, 32, was spotted on The X Factor set again, as a new photo sees him posing with 20-year-old Demi and one of her contestants, Paige Thomas, who recently survived the dreaded sing off on Nov. 15. Paige tweeted the photo on Nov. 18 and said, “So grateful for life and such a beautiful day yesterday with an amazing mentor@ddlovato and @WValderrama!”

Wilmer clearly has his arm around Demi in the picture, and this is not the first time he has been seen visiting her on the set. So what gives?

Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama have been crossing paths a number of times over the last couple of months, but a rekindled romance has never been confirmed nor denied. However, Wilmer’s visit to the set of The X Factor on Nov. 8, adds fuel to the fire!

A photo is making its rounds online, featuring Wilmer posing with fans during the Nov. 8 episode of Simon Cowell’s hit reality series.

This wouldn’t be Wilmer’s first sign of support for Demi and The X Factor. Demi and Wilmer were reportedly spotted together during a private event at Bagatelle LA on Sept. 12 in West Hollywood to celebrate the Season 2 premiere of The X Factor.

“Wilmer stayed by Demi’s side all night,” a source tells New York Post of the Sept. 12 event. “He was very protective of her and had his legs straddled around her chair while they watched the show.”

Furthermore, Demi, 20, and Wilmer, 32, were allegedly spotted together at The Cheesecake Factory as well on Sept. 2.

Demi and Wilmer first dated in 2010 and briefly reunited in 2011.

“They are not officially dating but its only a matter of time,” a source told HollywoodLife.com exclusively in September. “They really have always liked each other, still have tons of respect for each other, and are still in love.”

After exchanging some flirty tweets on Demi Lovato‘s birthday, it seemed that the singer, 20, and her ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama, 32, may be rekindling their romance. The couple added fuel to the fire when they were spotted having dinner together at the Cheesecake Factory on September 2.

Although these clues suggest Demi and Wilmer are back together, they aren’t there just yet.

“They are not officially dating but its only a matter of time,” a source tells Hollywoodlife.com. “They really have always liked each other, still have tons of respect for each other, and are still in love.”

According to the source,”They definitely have a thing for each other and act on it from time to time. But to say they are officially an item would not be the case at this time.”

It seems that Demi and Wilmer still care a lot for each other, so hopefully it won’t be long until they’re dating again!

Wilmer tweeted the new X Factor judge on her birthday (Aug. 20), saying, “Feliz Cumpleaños to my angel @ddlovato, U continue 2 make me proud. U are the hero this generation it’s been waiting 4! With & by you always.” That’s a pretty intense birthday wish for an ex!

Demi, 20, replied to Wilmer, 32, with an equally intense tweet of her own. “@WValderrama You are amazing…Thank you so much love. You mean the world to me,” she said in a tweet that she’s since deleted.

Demi and Wilmer were also paired up in July when they worked on a new Voto Latino campaign.

On July 29, Demi tweeted a photo of herself with a leopard, with the accompanying message: “Just working with a leopard on set yesterday…No big deal…#votolatino,” but it didn’t take a pair of eagle eyes to notice that the leopard wasn’t the only creature Demi was working with. Just off to the side, Wilmer is clearly visible, watching Demi pet the giant cat.

Months ago, Demi tweeted, “If you love something, let it go. If it comes back, it’s yours forever. If it doesn’t, then it was never meant to be.” Do you think her love, Wilmer, has come back to her?
