Venus Williams and her mini entourage hung out at Safira, the Dream Downtown’s retail boutique that opened nearly a year ago. Our sources say that the tennis star worked closely with one store clerk and revealed that she was in New York for meetings for her new line.

The boutique gifted Venus 2 sets from Red Daisy fitness, which was given to the boutique by the vender. Venus told the store clerk that receiving the gift from Safira was like “Christmas!”

Nike’s VP happened to be in the boutique at the same time as Venus and was very excited to see her. As she walked away he yelled, “Venus!” according to our sources.  The Nike executive was in the boutique buying a bowtie when Venus caught his attention.

Serena Williams has won Wimbledon for the fifth time — how amazing!

Serena, 30, took the final match on July 7 in London against Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska, USA Today reports. It’s her 14th Grand Slam singles title, which is astonishing.

With this victory, Serena joins her sister Venus Williams in winning Wimbledon five times.

“I’ve always wanted what Venus has,” she said.

Venus Williams is a champion and a fighter, but she’s been forced to pull out of the U.S. Open after being diagnosed with a frightening illness!

Venus, 31, released a statement about her disease on Aug. 31, Reuters reports.

“I have recently been diagnosed with Sjogren’s Syndrome,” she said. “(I) wish I could continue but right now I am unable to. I am thankful I finally have a diagnosis and am now focused on getting better and returning to the court soon.”

The illness drains those who suffer from it of their energy and also causes severe joint pain. We hope it doesn’t derail her long-term tennis goals!

Venus explained her illness on Good Morning America Sept. 1, saying, “As an athlete, everything’s physical for me, everything’s being fit and being in shape. The best thing that could have happened for me this summer was to feel worse, so I could get better.”

HollywoodLife.com spoke with a medical expert who explained Sjogren’s Syndrome, but pointed out that it cannot be cured.

“Sjogrens’ disease is an autoimmune disease that effects more than 4,000,000 people in the US; 9 out of 10 are women,” the expert said. “Sjogren’s cannot be cured, but symptoms can be controlled. The body attacks itself causing inflammation with painful joints and fatigue.”

Thankfully, Venis won’t be out of commission forever — she should be able to play tennis again eventually.

“With the proper treatment and rest, she would go into remission and resume normal activity,” the medical professional said.

We hope Venus is able to recover and get back to the courts as soon as possible!

At least her visor and Nikes reminded us we were watching tennis!

If she was trying to distract her competitor, it definitely worked — she won the game! Venus beat Czech player Sandra Zahlavova 6-7 (6/8) 6-0 6-4 after a totally intense game. And that’s impressive considering she’s been out for almost a year for a knee injury.

She’s now in the third round of the Australian Open and that means the outfits are going to keep coming!

Constant envelope pusher Lady Gaga is at it again, this time on the cover of Vogue Hommes Japan wearing nothing but a meat bikini while Rihanna hit the beaches of Hawaii showing off her new tattoo — of a gun! With all this behavior becoming more and more prevalent among Hollywood stars one wonders, when does bad taste go too far?

The bad taste epidemic does not stop with Lady Gaga and Rihanna either — in fact everyone from Taylor Momsen and Miley Cyrus to Venus Williams and Snooki seems to have been caught in the act. What is motivating these girls to behave this way though?

Hollywood media image consultant Michael Sands puts it the most simply; “Hollywood has lost its class.”

These girls may be pushing the envelope with their trashy and barely there outfits, but that isn’t bothering them. “They have something that’s working for them and they’re not gonna change it up quite yet,” says Michael.

“First and foremost, more than anything else in media, it’s not about substance anymore its more about style,” explains psychologist and Dad Camp star Dr. Jeff Gardere. “You may have some that are very talented like Gaga for instance and some that are not so talented like some people on reality shows, because they know that any kind of outrageous behavior is rewarded. It’s not talent that gets publicity, it’s the wild behavior.”

The response to these acts may be the biggest boost to the popularity of these stars. Lady Gaga’s meat look elicited a strong and immediate reaction from PETA president Ingrid Newkirk who said in a statement, “Oh, Lady Gaga’s job is to do outlandish things, and this certainly qualifies as outlandish because meat is something you want to avoid putting on or in your body.”

Chelsea Clinton and her new husband Marc Mezvinsky are back in New York City following their South African safari honeymoon, and the two enjoyed an evening of tennis at the US Open Sept. 3, sneaking a few kisses along the way. The two were on hand to watch American star Venus Williams in her match and appeared to definitely still be in the honeymoon phase of their relationship!

The dominating tennis twosome may be all business on the court, but off it Serena is happy to dish out beauty advice while Venus admits why a celeb match-up is of no interest to her!

Venus and Serena Williams took some time off from their very hectic practice schedule to stop by the USTA and Heineken 2010 US Open Player Party, and while Serena was happy to talk about her fave beauty pics and celeb crushes, Venus was all business! When asked what celeb she would like to play in a match, tennis champ Venus responded; “I don’t know if that would be a fair match.” Ouch!

Serena meanwhile was glad to give out her pics for the fall’s best nail color (“nude like a caramel kind of color”) and say what couple she would love to manicure! “Leonardo [DiCaprio] because he’s hot. His girlfriend [Bar Refali] is even hotter too!”

And with that, it was back to practice  for Venus and recuperating from an ankle injury for Serena.

“[They have me doing] tons of exercises that are so boring and not fun,” Serena confessed. “But it’s okay, it’s all towards a greater good!”
