Just when we thought the competitors in the Hunger Games couldn’t get any more beautiful, along comes Sam Claflin to prove us all wrong. Entertainment Weekly has the first official look at Sam as Finnick Odair, a character in the upcoming Hunger Games: Catching Fire movie — and we barely recognized him in his new Panem get-up!

News of Sam’s casting first broke in July 2012, and was met with mixed reactions from HollywoodLife.com readers. One reader supported the decision, saying, “I like Sam claflin, he’s a damn good actor,” while another reader said, “I’m boycotting the movie if this is true.” And so on, and so forth.

We last saw Sam acting alongside Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth in Snow White and the Huntsman.

Who Is Finnick Odair?

Good question!

Finnick, 24, is the male tribute from District 4 who is selected to do battle in the Third Quarter Quell — every 25 years, the Hunger Games’ rules shift — and will face off against Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and many others. He’s beloved by the people of the Capitol, and not just because he’s beautiful, though I’m sure that doesn’t hurt.

He’s also a bit of a man-whore, known for hitting and quitting many young ladies throughout the Capitol.

His weapon of choice is a trident, which is one of the tools he used to win his first Hunger Games when he was just 14 years old.

The hunt for the dreamiest gentleman in Panem is finally over! Sam Claflin has been offered the part of Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire, Zap2it reports, beating out everyone from Garrett Hedlund to Armie Hammer for the plum role.

Some of you may remember Sam from his role in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, but of course, we’ll always think of the 26-year-old British actor as Kristen Stewart‘s prince in Snow White and the Huntsman.

Kristen Stewart‘s special day is definitely not going unnoticed. Even though she’s wrapped up filming for Snow White and the Huntsman, her co-stars Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth and Sam Claflin are still celebrating her 22nd birthday.

Kristen Stewart has just received the ultimate compliment. Even though the 21-year-old actress is a mega-star with millions of dollars, she’s totally down-to-earth! Sam Claflin, who plays Kristen’s Prince Charming in the upcoming film, says working with Kristen is a “dream.”

“She’s as beautiful and talented as everyone imagines,” the British actor told Red Carpet News TV at the First Light Awards in London on March 5. ”She really is a dream come true when it comes to someone to work with. But it’s been incredible, I’ve been absolutely lucky with the people I’ve worked with.”

It’s almost a wrap for Kristen Stewart! Between promoting Breaking Dawn and filming SWATH in London, the 21-year-old actress has been working nonstop, but there’s an end in sight!

“Not long left now,” Sam Claflin tweeted. “Final few days of @SnowWhite. Already feeling the loss in my life. But on the up hand – it is nearly #christmas :-)”

We’re so happy to hear that Kristen will have time off over the holidays. We just hope that she’ll be able to spend some time with her boyfriend Robert Pattinson. We told you he’s in LA but do you think they’ll spend Christmas together?

Kristen is back in London filming ‘SWATH’ and an insider on the set says there was smoke coming from the castle!

Before you get yourself into a tizzy, Kristen Stewart is fine! But HollywoodLife.com has learned that her Snow White character may not be so lucky.Kristen is filming Snow White and the Huntsman at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, which is about 20 miles west of London and an eyewitness says the studio was “covered in smoke”!

“#SWATH @PinewoodStudios was covered in smoke all day yesterday. Must be something to do with the Snow White castle,” a fan on set tweeted.

Wow, do you have any idea why the castle would be on fire? We know Kristen is training to fight the wicked queen played by Charlize Theron with the help of her dashing Huntsman [Chris Hemsworth]. This version of Snow White will definitely be edgy and different from the classic fairytale!

We spoke to a rep from Pinewood Studios but they’ve yet to make an official comment.

Kristen Stewart works with some of Hollywood’s most supportive leading men! The 21-year-old’s Snow White and the Huntsman co-star Sam Claflin tells Digital Spy that although he hasn’t had much on screen time with Kristen while shooting in London, the experience is moving along fabulously!

“I’ve only done one tiny scene with Kristen so far, but I have every hope in her,” Sam says. “I truly believe and trust in her and I’m pretty sure she’ll do an absolutely diamond job of it. I’m pretty sure she’s excited about the challenge.”

That should make Kristen’s boyfriend and Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson so happy to hear! Especially now that he’s back in LA, he knows Sam and his bestie Tom Sturridge will be looking out for K-Stew!

Right around the same time SWAT comes out in June 2012, Snow White starring Lily Collins and Julia Roberts will hit theater — but Sam says not to worry.

“They’re two completely different projects altogether. As much as they’ve obviously got the same premise, you could say that about so many things. The Hangover and The Inbetweeners, for example, are different films but basically about boys going out and getting drunk,” he says. “The beautiful thing is I think both directors have very different ideas of where they’re going with it. I have a friend whose in the other one so it’s nice that we keep each other updated. I’m excited to see that one as much as I’m excited to see the one I’m in.”

It seems Kristen Stewart has barely had time to breathe since becoming one of Hollywood’s most sought after actresses. Being an A-lister has put her in the position of playing incredible characters and kissing the silver screen’s cutest co-stars. Sam’s no the only one excited about the film. Since making an appearance at Comic Con to promote the first installment of Breaking Dawn, Kristen has been in London working on SWATH and enjoying the city’s nightlife by partying and showing off her newly dyed black hair.
