Sarah Paulson (born December 17, 1974 in Tampa, Florida) is an American actress. She moved to New York City with her mother at the age of five, and attended Manhattan’s High School of Performing Arts and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and began her work as an actress immediately after high school. Sarah began her career in the 90s with small roles, before landing jobs on HBO’s Deadwood and FX’s series Nip/Tuck. In 2006-2007, she co-starred in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination, and has appeared in all five seasons of the hit show American Horror Story, as well as the critically-acclaimed films Mud and 12 Years A Slave. Besides film and television, Sarah has also had a successful theater career.

Sarah considers her sexuality “fluid,” but only dated men up until 2004, when she began her first relationship with a female, actress Cherry Jones. The couple stayed together until 2009 when they decided to call it quits. News of Sarah’s secret relationship with Holland Taylor broke in December 2015.
