Phillip Phillips (born Phillip LaDon Phillips Jr. in Leesburg, Georgia on September 20, 1990) is an American singer-songwriter. He is best known as the winner of American Idol Season 11 in 2012. His single “Home,” earned him a Teen Choice Award nomination. The song was also featured at the 2012 Olympics in London. His songs appear on the albums Phillip Phillips: Journey to the Finale and American Idol Season 11 Highlights (Phillip Phillips EP). Prior to auditioning for American Idol, he tried out for America’s Got Talent Season 2, but did not make the cut.
