‘The Passion’ Soundtrack Review: Emotional Covers Hold Their Own Against Originals
‘The Passion’ soundtrack is here — and it’s just as different as you’d think. The live show will air on Sunday and is taking old and new pop songs and covering them. So, how does Jesus’ cover of Katy Perry’s ‘Unconditionally’ work? Surprisingly, it’s really good.
We all know that the Glee music producers never held back when picking songs to cover — and since it’s the same guy, it’s the same thing for The Passion. Adam Anders created the soundtrack for the live production set for March 20. So, here’s the song list, and I must say, the singers didn’t try to copy the original singer’s (no one can sing Whitney like Whitney), but instead put their own, original spin on each hit.
