Lee Thompson Young (February 1, 1984 – August 19, 2013) was an American actor. He is best known for his starring role on Disney Channel’s The Famous Jett Jackson. His last starring role was portraying Boston police detective Barry Frost on the TNT police drama series Rizzoli & Isles.

Lee Thompson Young, who got his start as the star of Disney’s The Famous Jett Jackson, tragically committed suicide in August 2013 as his show Rizzoli & Isles was filming the penultimate episode of their fourth season. Lee’s character, Barry Frost, was written out the season four finale and sadly killed by a car accident in the season five premiere. So finally, on the second episode of the fifth season on June 24, Angie Harmon and the rest of the Rizzoli & Isles cast were able to pay their respects to Barry, and by proxy, Lee.

Lee Thompson Young tragically died on August 19. After he failed to appear at work, his co-workers from the set of TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles called Lee’s landlord to check up on him. Sadly, when the landlord opened the door, the 29-year-old’s body was found in his Los Angeles home with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Four years prior, Lee committed suicide onscreen in ABC’s FlashForward, which makes us feel that much more uneasy about the actor’s death.
