Joey Feek (born Joey Martin Feek on September 7, 1975 in Alexandria, Indiana) is an American country musician. Joey made her first public singing appearance when she was just six years old, performing Dolly Parton’s “Coat of Many Colors” at a first-grade talent show. In 1998, she moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music. She signed with Sony Records in 2000 and recorded her first album. However, industry problems prevented the record from being released, so she recorded her second album, Strong Enough to Cry, in 2004. That album was also shelved, but it was available for download in 2007. Joey auditioned with Rory Feek for the CMT competition, Can You Duet. After the show wrapped up, the two signed a record deal with Sugar Hill Records and released their first duet album, The Life of a Song. The album reached the Top 40 Country charts and earned the two an Academy of Country Music Award in 2010. In 2012, Joey starred with her husband in The Joey+Rory Show, a half-hour variety show. Her husband famously documented her battle with cervical cancer on their blog until she passed away on Mar. 4, 2016.

Personal Life:
Joey married Rory in 2002. They gave birth to their first child, daughter Indiana Boone Feek, in Feb. 2014. She has two stepdaughters, Hopie Feek and Hedi Feek. She has four siblings – Jody, Julie, Justin and Jessie. In 2014, Joey was diagnosed with an aggressive case of cervical cancer. Though she underwent treatment for the disease, it returned in 2015. In Oct. 2015, Rory said that Joey’s cancer was terminal and they ending all treatments. Sadly, Joey passed away on Mar. 4, 2016.
