A handful of celebrities have published tell-all memoirs.

An A-lister’s personal life can be difficult living in the public eye, and stars such as Prince Harry, Jennette McCurdy and Jill Duggar are among the many stars who have released books about their experiences.

Harry’s Spare broke the internet when it hit shelves in January 2023. The former royal unpacked multiple revelations about his family in the book. His relationship with brother Prince William became a huge plot point for fans.

Aside from Harry, former Nickelodeon star Jennette shocked fans when she released her book, I’m Glad My Mom Died. The book revealed her traumatic childhood, uncomfortable experiences on the set of Dan Schneider’s iCarly and her Sam & Cat costar Ariana Grande’s alleged work ethic.

In one excerpt from Harry’s 2023 book, the U.K. native alleged that he and William got into a physical fight because the older brother called Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, “difficult,” “rude” and “abrasive.” 

“Willy, I can’t speak to you when you’re like this,” Harry wrote. “He set down the water, called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”

Harry noted that William later returned to apologize for his alleged actions.

The 19 Kids and Counting alum made multiple accusations against her father, Jim Bob Duggar, the family’s patriarch who raised his 19 children under the teachings of the Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP). One of Jill’s most harrowing allegations was that her father threatened to decrease her inheritance because she called him verbally abusive.  

“‘If you attack us, probably your inheritance will be lowered significantly,’” Jim Bob allegedly said to Jill, according to her 2023 memoir. “‘I love you, but I am grieved by the disrespect and the accusations that continue.’”

As she recalled working on Sam & Cat with Ariana, Jennette claimed that the then-rising pop star was excused from the set in order to pursue her music career. 

“I booked two features during iCarly that I had to turn down because the iCarly team wouldn’t write me out of episodes to go shoot them,” the former child star wrote in her 2022 memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died. “So, I have to turn down movies while Ariana’s off whistle-toning at the Billboard Music Awards? F–k this. … So now, every time she misses work, it feels like a personal attack.”

In her 2023 book, Love, Pamela: A Memoir, Pamela Anderson rehashed the moment she realized she needed to leave her first husband, Tommy Lee Jones. 

“At that point, I didn’t know what to do,” Pamela wrote, referring to an argument she and Tommy were having at the time. “And I just said, ‘I need some f—king help around here. You gotta grow up, it’s not about you anymore.'”

Though fans know Paris Hilton’s catchphrase is “that’s hot,” the Paris: The Memoir author revealed in her 2023 book that she actually got the idea from her sister, Nicky Hilton. 

“At some point, I heard Nicky say, ‘That’s hot,’ and it resonated with me,” the heiress explained. “I wrote it in my diary and doodled flowers and fireworks around it. It’s such a great statement, isn’t it? Positive. Unpretentious.”
