Who Is Fancy Ewing (born Jake Hagood on March 29, 1991 in Bentonville, Arkansas) is an American singer. Fancy grew up in a Christian household, and developed an early interest in music. As a boy, he listened to Christian and Country music and by age 11, he had already taught himself how to play the piano. After finishing school, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee to attend Trevecca Nazarene University. Fancy performed and worked as a songwriter around the Nashville area, drawing the attention of producers Scooter Braun, Scott Borchetta and Dr. Luke. Fancy made the decision to leave school to pursue music. In 2015, he was the subject of a viral campaign around his debut single, “Goodbye.” It was released with his identity concealed from the public. The single reached No. 29 on the Billboard Mainstream charts and #98 on the Billboard Hot 100. Who Is Fancy was finally revealed in April 2015 with an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He followed up this success with his next single, “Boys Like You,” featuring Meghan Trainor and Ariana Grande. His debut album is expected to drop in Dec. 2015.

Jake’s name, “Fancy,” was a nickname given to him by coworkers at Forever 21 while he attended college. He is openly gay. He is a fan of Chipotle, the television show Gilmore Girls and avoiding the gym.
