Ryan Lewis (born March 25, 1988 in Spokane, Washington) is an American producer and musician. Ryan met the rapper Macklemore in the summer of 2006, and the two collaborated to make their first EP, The VS. EP which was released on November 27, 2009. On October 9, 2012, Ryan and Macklemore released The Heist. The debut studio album blew up immediately, reaching number 1 on iTunes within hours on the strength of songs like “Thrift Shop” and “Can’t Hold Us.” The duo has gone on to perform at the 2013 MTV VMAs, the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, and on Saturday Night Live.
