Peter Thiel (born October 11, 1967 in Frankfurt am Main, West Germany) is a German-American entrepreneur, venture capitalist and hedge fund manager. Peter co-founded PayPal in 1998 with Elon Musk and Max Levchin and currently serves as its CEO. He was the first investor in Facebook and still sits on the company’s board of directors. Peter is also the president of Clarium Capital, which is a hedge fund with $700 million in assets under management. He is active in politics and public speaking and a member of the Libertarian Party. In 2016, Peter was one of the pledged California delegates for Donald Trump at the 2016 National Convention and was selected to speak at the convention.

Personal Life:
Peter’s family moved to California when he was just one year old. When he was younger, he was a US-rated Chess Master. He studied 20th century philosophy at Stanford undergrad and acquired his J.D. from Stanford Law School. Peter is devoted to philanthropy and spends much of his money and time investing in technological breakthroughs. He has made commitments to Machine Intelligence Research Institute, OpenAl, anti-aging research and Breakout Labs. He also created the Thiel Fellowship in 2010, which awards $100,000 to 20 people under 20 years old, to allow them to drop out of college and bring their ideas to life. Peter is also a great activist for gay rights, being gay himself.
