Matt Roberts (born on January, 10, 1978) was a musician and one of the founders of the American rock band, 3 Doors Down. He was the former lead guitarist, and suffered from health issues which caused him to depart from the group in 2012. His father admitted he had “struggled with anxiety and an addiction to prescription drugs medication since his time with the band,” according to CNN. His father once said that “he didn’t do well in public,” and that he “didn’t like people starring at him.” Matt began playing guitar at a young age.

Personal Life:
Matt Roberts was found dead in a Wisconsin hotel August 20, 2016 at the age of 38. A cause of death has not been determined at this time, but an autopsy has been scheduled, according to CNN. Matt’s past with prescription drugs has led to speculation that he suffered an accidental overdose, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. He left behind his father, Darrell Roberts.
