Bio:
Mark Dayton (born January 26, 1947 in Minneapolis, Minnesota) is an American politician and 40th Governor of Minnesota as of 2011. Before serving as Governor, Mark was previously a US Senator and a Minnesota State Auditor. He is a democratic by association to the Minnesota Democratic Farmer Labor Party. During Mark’s statewide address in 2017, he suddenly fell ill, looking faint and slurring his words. He fainted towards the end of his 45-minute speech at the Capitol.

Besides serving as Minnesota’s Governor, Mark is best known for fainting during his annual statewide address on January 23, 2017.
Personal Life:
Mark is the grandson of George Dayton, the found of Dayton’s convenient store that was later turned into the Target Corporation. He was married, and divorced, twice to Janice Haarstick and Alida Messinger. Mark has two sons, Eric and Andrew.
