Leah Remini (born Leah Marie Remini in Brooklyn, New York on June 15, 1970) is an American actress and comedian. She is best known for her role as Carrie Heffernan on the CBS sitcom The King of Queens, as well as her role as Stacey Carosi on the NBC sitcom Saved by the Bell. She was one of the co-hosts on the CBS talk show The Talk, before she was fired in 2011. She was raised Catholic until the age of 9, when her mother joined the Church of Scientology, from which point she was raised a Scientologist. She left the church in July, 2013, citing policies that forbid questioning the church’s leader, David Miscavige. On Nov. 3, 2015, Leah released a book, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology, about her time in the Church of Scientology, and her decision to leave.

Personal Life:
Leah Remini moved to Los Angeles at 13 with her mother to pursue an acting career. One of her early television roles was on Who’s The Boss. Leah went on to play the role of Stacey Carosi on Saved by the Bell. In 1998, she landed the role of Carrie Heffernan on The King of Queens. She has also been featured in the movie Old School. Leah was a co-host on CBS’ The Talk until she was fired. Leah blamed her departure from the show on co-host Sharon Osbourne, whom she claimed on Twitter had her fired. Leah married actor and salsa musician Angelo Pagán on July 19, 2003. They have a daughter, Sofia Bella, born on June 16, 2004. Leah was a member of the Church of Scientology from the age of nine, until she left in July 2013, accusing the administration of being corrupt. Ahead of her book release, she sat down for an interview with 20/20, candidly discussing the implications of Scientology, as well as its most famous supporter, Tom Cruise. “Being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself,” she said. ” You are a person who is anti the aims and goals of Scientology. You are evil.”
