Larry Hernandez (born March 10, 1977 in Los Angeles, California) is an American singer, composer and television star. When Larry was four years old, his parents took him to a small town in Culican, Mexico, where he grew up. At age eight, he would compose his own songs and sing them to his family members. He attended a music school and played for a group of musicians called Los Amables del Norte. Larry recorded his first solo album, Contella Norteña, in 1999. This would be a start of a music career that saw eight more albums. However, it wasn’t until 2009 when Larry had his big break, with his album, 16 Narco Corridos, hit No. 4 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums. The record sold more than 300,000 copies. In 2012, Larry launched his reality television series, Larrymania, on Mun2. The series ran for 10 episodes and it helped him become more engrained in popular culture. Larry has won multiple Latin ilboard Music awards and was nominated for the 2015 Premios Banda Max award for Best Duet of the Year.

In Sept. 25, 2015, Larry was arrested in Ontario, California, on charges of kidnapping and assault in relation to an Aug. 2015 incident. While Larry was reportedly in Newberry, South Carolina, he was reportedly not happy with his payment for a performance. He, along with another man, reportedly assaulted the show’s promoter. Larry and the accomplice allegedly kept the promoter in Larry’s hotel room, supposedly assaulting him again to gain more money.
