Kate Bosworth (born Catherine Ann Bosworth on January 2, 1983 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actress and model. She made her film debut in The Horse Whisperer in 1998. She went on the get a supporting role in Remember the Titans. Her breakthrough role came in 2002 as the lead in surfing chick-flick Blue Crush. In 2004, Kate starred in the rom-com, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!, but the film ended up being a flop. Her other films included Beyond the Sea, for which she received critical acclaim, and Bee Season. In 2006, Kate portrayed Lois Lane in Superman Returns and went on to receive roles in Bringing Down The House, 21, and The Warriors Way. In the 2010s, Kate moved into fashion and designed a jewelry line with Cher Coulter called JewelMint. Their expanded into the websites, JewelMint and BeachMint. Most recently, Kate starred alongside Julianne Moore in Still Alice.
