Jennifer Simpson (born Jennifer Mae Barringer in Webster City, Iowa on August 23, 1986) is an American middle distance runner and steeplechaser. She represented the United States on three occasions, securing a spot at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio Olympics. Jenny took home a gold medal in the 1500 meters at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics and also landed a silver medal for the same event in 2013. She became a bronze medalist for the first time when she took first place in the 1500 meter race at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
