Jennifer Beals (born Jennifer Beals in Chicago, Illinois on December 19, 1963) is an American Actress and a former teen model. Jennifer is bi-racial, her father was African American and her mother is Irish American. Jennifer was inspired to become an actress after doing a high school production of Fiddler on the Roof and seeing Balm in Gilead. She attended Yale University and received a B.A. in American Literature in 1987. Jennifer deferred a term so she could film Flashdance.
Best Known For:
Jennifer Beals is best known for her iconic role as Alex in Flashdance and Bette Porter in The L Word. She’s also best known for the off the shoulder sweater she created in Flashdance.
Personal Life:
Jennifer Beals has been married twice. Her first marriage was to Alexandre Rockwell and it lasted from 1986 to 1996. Two years after her divorce from Alexandre, she married Ken Dixon who is a Canadian entrepreneur. They have one daughter together, she was born on October 18, 2005. Her husband Ken has two children from a previous marriage.
