Galen Rupp (born Galen Rupp on May 8, 1986 in Portland, Oregon) is an American long-distance runner and three-time Olympic marathon runner. Galen won the bronze medal for marathon running at the 2016 Rio Olympic games. While he was still in college at the University of Oregon, Galen won a spot at the 2008 Olympics, and finished 13th in the 10,000 m with an American Olympic-record time of 27:36.99. Galen went pro in 2009. At the 2012 London Olympics, he won the silver medal in the 10,000m behind Mo Farah, his training partner.

Personal Life:
Galen married Keara Rupp in 2010, whom he met at the University of Oregon while running long-distance together. They have twins, Grayson and Emmie, born in 2014, and are expecting a third child in October 2016.
