Denzel Washington (born Denzel Hayes Washington, Jr. in Mount Vernon, NY on December 28, 1954) is an award-winning actor, director and producer. Known for taking on real-life figures such as Malcolm X and Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, has been known to play daring attention-grabbing roles. He’s received two Academy Awards — one for Glory and one for Training Day, and two Golden Globe Awards — one for The Hurricane and one for Glory. He also has been married for 30 years to Paulette Pearson, who he met in his first on-camera role. The couple is one of the longest lasting in Hollywood
