Charlotte Rampling (born Tessa Charlotte Rampling on February 5, 1946 in Sturmer, Essex, England) is an English actress who has starred in many movies and television series over the years. She studied at Jeanne d’Arc Académie Pour Jeunes Filles at Versailles, France when her family moved there when she was young. Rampling has starred in the films Stardust Memories, The Verdict and The Night Porter, among many others. She has received the Honorary Cesar from the French Academy of Cinema in recognition of her work. In 2002, Rampling became a Dame of France’s Legion d’Honneur. She also stars in the 2016 film 45 Years, in which she received her first Academy Award nomination.

Personal Life:
Rampling’s first marriage was to actor Bryan Southcombe in 1972. They had one child, Barnaby, before divorcing in 1976. Two years later, in 1978, Rampling married French composer Jean Michel Jarre. With him she had a second son, David Jarre. They separated in 1997. Rampling then met French business consultant Jean-Noel Tassez and was engaged to him since 1998 until his death in 2015. They have no children together.
