But what’s behind Elena’s tears? Another rejection by Stefan (Paul Wesley)? Another ultimatum from Damon (Ian Somerhalder)? Or maybe, given the episode is titled “The Departed” and features flashbacks of the people Elena loved and lost, she’s just getting nostalgic.
