Brittany Murphy (born Brittany Anne Bertolotti on November 10, 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia) was an American actress and singer, who tragically lost her life on December 20, 2009. Along with a 12-year run on Fox’s King of the Hill, Brittany starred in a slew of popular movies, including: Clueless (1995), 8 Mile (2003), Just Married and Uptown Girls (2003).

Best Known For:
Brittany Murphy is best remembered for her iconic role in 1995’s Clueless.

Personal Life:
After dating some big Hollywood names like Ashton Kutcher, and being engaged twice, Brittany eventually married British screenwriter Simon Monjack in 2007. He died shortly after her in 2010.

Brittany Murphy’s Death: Second Lab Report Contributes To Murder Claim

The results are in from a second testing of Brittany Murphy’s hair samples and they too show that she had “abnormally high levels” of heavy metals, including Barium and Sulfur in her system.
Brittany Murphy died from pneumonia on Dec. 20, 2009 at the young age of 32, but her father didn’t believed that to be true. In November, Angelo Bertolotti received test results from The Carlson Company stating that his daughter had a large amount of metals in her system, leading him to believe she had been poisoned. On Dec. 18, two days before the four-year anniversary of her death, he received a second set of test results from another lab — stating the same thing.

UPDATE: Brittany’s fiancé Simon Monjack tells RadarOnline.com he is furious over the report that claims Brittany overdosed on Vicodin, which was allegedly prescribed to her by an unknown physician. He says the pills in question were prescribed to Brittany’s mother, Sharon Murphy, who is a cancer survivor. Simon says the “outrageous” claim is having a negative impact on Sharon’s health and that she is considering taking legal action against the initial publisher of the report. Read more

Brittany Murphy Had a 1% Chance of Dying Of Pneumonia If Her Husband & Mom Had Only Taken Her To The Hospital! Say Top Docs

Brittany Murphy’s death was caused by “pneumonia, with prescription drugs and anemia also playing a role,” according to a Coroner’s report released Feb. 4.

Furthermore, the young actress’s tragic death was accidental and likely could have been prevented if she had been taken to a doctor, said Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter .

“If Brittany had community-acquired pneumonia, and had been treated with effective antibiotics within 24-48 hours of feeling ill, the likelihood of her dying would have been [around] 1%,” Dr. Brad Spellberg, associate professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at Harbor-UCLA’s Medical center, explained to HollywoodLife.com
