After playing for his high school team in San Diego, Arian committed to the 2004 signing class at the University of Tennessee, where he was red shirted his first year. He started as a running back the next three years, breaking out as a star during his junior year, although he’s received a mixture of criticism and praise for his playing. He went undrafted in the 2009 NFL draft, but was signed as a free agent by the Houston Texans. He became the team’s starting running back the next season. Arian was sidelined for most of the 2013 season with a back injury and had surgery in November of that year, but had a major comeback in 2014. The rest of his career was plagued by injuries, though, and he was released from the Texans in March 2016. He signed a one year contract with the Miami Dolphins, but only played four games before another injury, and officially announced his retirement on Oct. 24, 2016.
