Alexis Sanchez (born Alexis Alejandro Sánchez Sánchez in Tocopilla, Chile on Dec. 19, 1988) is a Chilean professional soccer player. He first played for Cobreloa before being signed to Italy’s Udinese Calcio. He played at Colo-Colo, River Plate and Serie A. In 2011, Alexis was signed by Barcelona and became the most expensive transfer in Chilean soccer history. He was signed to Arsenal in July 2014 and was the third-most expensive transfer in the club’s history. He currently plays forward for Arsenal and the Chilean national team. He most recently helped the Chilean national team win the 2015 Copa América against Argentina.
