Britney Spears, 41, revealed that she didn’t enjoy being pregnant with her sons in her new memoir, The Woman in Me. The pop star, who gave birth to her kids Sean Preston and Jayden James in 2005 and 2006, respectively, wrote about how she was “so mean” during her two pregnancies.
“Two things about being pregnant: I loved sex and I loved food. Both of those things were absolutely amazing throughout both of my pregnancies,” Britney said. “Other than that, I can’t say there was much that brought me any pleasure.”
“I was just so mean,” the “Toxic” singer recalled. “You did not want to hear from me those whole two years. I did not want to be around almost anyone at all. I was hateful. I didn’t want anyone, not even my mom, to come near me. I was a real mama bear. America’s sweetheart and the meanest woman alive.”
Britney welcomed her two sons with her now-ex Kevin Federline, who currently lives in Hawaii with the boys. Back in May, Kevin’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, claimed that Sean, 18, and Jayden, 17, hadn’t seen Britney in over a year, as they were settling their custody agreement about them relocating to Hawaii. In a court filing, Britney’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, gave permission for the move. “To her credit, Britney Spears will not interfere with and consents to the relocation,” Matthew said. He also slammed Kevin’s lawyer for speaking to entertainment outlets about the situation and threatening to take Britney to court.
In Britney’s book, which came out October 24, the singer reveals that she was allegedly pregnant for the first time when she was dating Justin Timberlake in the early 2000s, but they decided to get an abortion. “It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy,” Britney wrote in The Woman in Me. “I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated. But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young,” she added.
In 2022, Britney allegedly got pregnant with then-fiancé Sam Asghari‘s baby. However, Britney revealed she suffered a miscarriage two months after announcing her pregnancy. “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy,” she wrote on Instagram in May 2022. “This is a devastating time for any parent,” she added. Britney and Sam, 29, got married the following month, but split over a year later after 14 months of marriage.
