Sofia Richie loves who she’s “becoming.” The model, 22, shared a quote to her Instagram story on December 10 that seemingly referenced her ex Scott Disick, 37. Sofia and Scott, who began dating in 2017, when she was just nineteen, split over the summer. And now, he’s dating Amelia Hamlin, 19.
Although Sofia didn’t tag Scott, the quote is all about outgrowing a relationship. “you loved the person I was, i love the person I’m becoming,” it reads.
The text includes a long paragraph about personal growth — and how it doesn’t always sit well with others. “(sometimes we outgrow the people we used to know and become different people,” it reads. “When growth happens, some people take our changes personally. Not because they have something against us but because they don’t recognize the person we are now. You are not responsible for people’s assumptions of you. You are also not obliged to remain the person people remember you to be).”
Sofia has never spoken openly about her break-up with the reality star, but she appears to be doing just fine without him. Since the split she has been spotted on several dates with Matthew Morton, 27, who is the younger brother of the late Harry Morton. And as HollywoodLife previously reported, her family, including her brother Miles Richie, 26, are fans of her new relationship.
Lionel Richie‘s daughter definitely isn’t staying at home moping about her break-up. She’s been enjoying herself with friend and living her best life. Last month she took an epic trip to the Bahamas. She shared plenty of pics from her escape to paradise, including some of her enjoying the beach with a couple of pigs. “Pigs in Paradise,” she captioned her multi-photo post.
For his part Scott seems to be enjoying himself as well. He has been linked to Lisa Rinna‘s daughter Amelia since October. The Talentless designer and the model were first photographed together heading into Kendall Jenner‘s Halloween-themed birthday bash on Oct. 31.
Then they were snapped enjoying a PDA-filled beach stroll in Malibu on Nov. 16. Scott had his arm around Amelia, who looked flawless in her bikini, as they walked along the sand. They were photographed again that night when they were grabbing dinner together at Tony Taverna’s in the Malibu Country Mart.
Scott and Sofia are no longer following each other on Instagram but, as HollywoodLife previously reported, she’s still on good terms with his inner circle. “Sofia is still friends with Kylie, Kendall, and countless other people that are also friends with Scott. They’ve hung in the same social circles forever and that doesn’t just go away because they broke up,” a source told HL.
“Sofia is very mature and she knows how to handle herself,” the source added. “She isn’t worried about running into Scott. She knows it’s bound to happen one way or another. She’s not the type of person to avoid social situations because an ex may or may not be there.”
