It’s not over ’til it’s over — and that may not be anytime soon for David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. The on-screen duo is returning to Fox for a six-episode limited series, but in a new interview, they were of course asked to do more than six episodes. And well, they weren’t against it.
We’ve been waiting a long time (14 years to be exact) for The X-Files to return to TV and we’re obviously thrilled to see David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson back in action when the series premieres on Jan. 24. However, six episodes is a total tease, right? Well it may just turn into more.

We can’t get enough of The X-Files. FBI agents Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) are continuing on their quest to investigate the supernatural and unexplained in an all-new revival series on FOX. An epic two-part trailer was revealed on Sept. 28 and teased so much of what’s to come!
Hottest. Agent. Ever. The news broke on July 21 that Robbie Amell, who is known for his roles in ‘The Flash’ and ‘The Duff’ has joined ‘The X-Files’ as well as ‘Six Feet Under’ star, Lauren Ambrose.
Robbie Amell is taking on the role of “smart” and “smooth” Agent Miller (so basically, he’ll be playing himself) on episode four of the return of The X-Files on Fox, and he’s not the only one. Fox has also cast Lauren Abrose as sharp, confident Agent Einstein. Both will reportedly star in one episode.

Fans everywhere are still reeling over the news that we are getting a six-episode miniseries of The X-Files, which will shoot this summer. Better yet, the series will welcome back its original, paranormal-fighting duo, Agent Mulder (David Duchovny) and Agent Scully (Gillian Anderson)! But the character reprisals do not stop there: David has just confirmed that one of the show’s long running bad guys, the Cigarette Smoking Man (William B. Davis) will also return for the miniseries!
Mulder and Scully are back at it — and returning to Fox! It’s been 13 years since ‘The X-Files’ came to an end and on March 24, the network officially announced it would return for a six-episode event series!
“I think of it as a 13-year commercial break,”creator/executive producer Chris Carter said in a press release about the return of the cult classic, The X-Files. The series which is set to begin this summer, will also star David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, who will take back over as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
