Whitney Houston‘s Feb. 18 funeral brought the attention of the world to the New Hope Baptist Church in Westfield, New Jersey, wher Whitney’s close friend Kevin Costner spoke warmly about his beloved Bodyguard co-star. But one story about their time together was very shocking!

Whitney, who died at 48, was paid tribute by her close friend, 57, at the ceremony. He discussed the scandal he faced while pitching her as the perfect lead for the film.

“The red flags [from movie executives] came out immediately,” he said. “Maybe I should think this over a bit. We could also think about another singer, was a suggestion. Maybe somebody white. Nobody ever said it out loud, but it was a fair question. I told everyone that I had taken notice that Whitney was black. The only problem was, I thought she was perfect for what we were trying to do.”

Amy will be enchanting moviegoers as the classic comic heroine!

Amy Adams is set to play leading lady Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman film, director Zack Snyder tells the Los Angeles Times.

Many actresses auditioned, but Zack says Amy, 36, was the “perfect fit” for the role. She represents the “strong, professional woman who can hold her own against any man — even if he can leap tall buildings in a single bound,” he said.

No word yet on when filming will start, or even what the title will be. But we do know that Henry Cavill will star as Clark Kent, and Kevin Costner and Diane Lane will play Clark’s parents.

This news comes on the heels of another major comic book casting, as Anne Hathaway was recently selected to play Catwoman in the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises.

We’re so happy for you Kevin & Christine — congrats on the newest family addition!

Kevin Costner, 55, and his wife Christine Costner, 36, welcomed a new member to their family June 2 — daughter Grace Avery Costner, People is reporting. We took you inside the baby shower, and now we’re thrilled to announce Grace’s arrival!

Grace, who weighs 7 lbs and is 11 inches tall, is Kevin’s seventh child. Kevin’s older children are Annie, 25, Lily, 23, and Joe, 22 from his marriage to first wife, Cindy. He also has a son Liam, 13, with ex-girlfriend Bridget Rooney. Kevin’s youngest children with Christine, his wife of five years, are Cayden Wyatt, 3, and Hayes Logan, 16 months.

The couple announced the pregnancy in March.

Kevin is also helping to clean up the BP oil spill with a newly built machine. The device, made by his company Ocean Technology Solutions, is designed to suck up the contaminated water like a vacuum cleaner, separate it, and send back the purified water into the ocean.

With seven kids, and trying to save the world, is Kevin going to have his hands full or what?!

Kevin and wife Christine are expecting baby #3, a daughter — and she’s due this summer!

About 50 of Christine Costner‘s BFFs joined her April 11 at The Four Seasons Resort: The Biltmore in Santa Barbara, Calif., for a fun baby shower — and HollywoodLife.com has all the details! Christine and her Academy Award-winning hubby, Kevin Costner, already have two children — Cayden Wyatt, 2, and Hayes Logan, 1 — and they’re about to add one more to their family. The happy couple is expecting a daughter to round out their trio sometime this summer!

Of course, those three only make up half of Kevin’s brood of children. From his previous marriage to college-sweetheart Cindy Silva, Kevin has three more children — Annie, 26, Lily, 24, and Joe, 22.

Said Christine of the day,  “It was an intimate, special day celebrating my close friends and family…everyone left with a big smile.”

At the intimate, pink-themed party, Christine and her guests chowed down on Ahi tuna and Dungeness crab rolls, followed by a lemon dusted chicken breast, tomato confit and scallion caper salsa served with grilled artichokes. For dessert: vanilla cake layered with fresh raspberries and cupcakes from Whodidily Cupcakes.

Funny people Amy and Will are expecting again, and who knew Kevin had so many kids?

Congrats on all the new babies! Amy Poehler and Will Arnett are expecting baby number two reports Us Weekly! No due date has been given yet. The funny pair’s new baby will join big brother Archie, 16 months. Amy, 38, and Arnett, 39, were married in August 2003.

And Kevin Costner and wife Christine Baumgartner just announced that they’re expecting, too! Extra reported that the 55-year-old actor and his model wife are expecting baby number three in June — they already have two sons Hayes Logan, 1, and Cayden, 2.

And who knew that this will be the actor’s SEVENTH child?? He has four other children from previous relationships; two girls and a boy with ex-wife Cindy Costner, and a son from his short relationship with Bridget Rooney.

Amy says that Hollywood parents have the same difficulties as non-famous parents. “Any working mother will tell you it’s a day-to-day thing,” she told TV Guide in Nov., 2009. “You just do your best and try to make it work.”
