On Mar. 13, after two days of voting, white smoke was seen rising from the chimney of the Vatican in Rome, meaning that a replacement for Pope Benedict XVI had been found. This being such a momentous occasion in world news, several celebs took to Twitter to speak their mind. Some, like Seth Rogen and Joan Rivers, took the opportunity to crack wise, while others, like Maria Shriver and Real Housewives of New York City‘s Ramona Singer, were a bit more serious about the revelation that Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Archbishop of Buenos Aires, would become Pope Francis I.

Joan, of course, took the chance to poke fun at the moment. “@JoanRivers: Waiting for the Pope to emerge on the balcony in a white gown. Doubt he’ll be singing “Don’t Cry for me Argentina.” A missed opportunity!”

Maria and Ramona were a bit more wistful with their tweets. “@mariashriver: Imagine the weight on the new pope’s shoulder. Let’s all say a prayer that he feels at peace with his mission.”

Melissa Joan Hart was inquisitive: “@MelissaJoanHart: New pope? White smoke? Who got the gig?”

Seth MacFarlane and comedians Jim Gaffigan and Aziz Ansari all posted some funny tweets, as well.

Chris Brown still has a special place in Rihanna‘s heart, as she revealed during her recent interview with Oprah Winfrey. As such, she’s not going to sit back and let people talk trash about Chris. Somebody should’ve warned Joan Rivers.

The Fashion Police funny lady tweeted, “Rihanna confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she still loves Chris Brown. Idiot! Now it’s MY turn to slap her,” on Friday, August 24.

Rihanna very quickly replied to Joan, saying “@Joan_Rivers wow u really do get slow when you’re old huh?” She deleted that tweet shortly after, replacing it with a less direct one that reads, “Slap on some diapers.”

Joan Rivers has a reputation in Hollywood for ripping on celebrities, but this time she has gone too far! The TV personality along with her daughter Melissa Rivers went on the offensive, and launched an all out attack on Robert Pattinson.

“I just don’t understand the appeal with this man! He is pasty, he mumbles when he talks, he is notorious, as Melissa pointed out, for poor hygiene,” exclaimed Joan on E!’s Fashion Police via spunk-ransom.

Joan was referring to a picture of Rob at a Comic Con panel sporting his new half-done do from Cosmopolis.We know she’s not in the age range of most Robsessed fans, but she could at least appreciate his good looks. To make matters worse, Joan wasn’t the only one ripping on R-Patz. Melissa claimed he was a bad influence on her son and was in need of a scrubbing!

“I am just fearful when I see this, I have a ten year old son and whenever this movie is a hit, they are all going to want to shave half their heads. Its like please… also TAKE A BATH!” said Melissa.

Joan says she’s happy Donald Trump got the president to unveil his long-form birth certificate.

Joan Rivers is team Donald Trump! HollywoodLife.com spoke with the Emmy-Award-winning comedian at a LensCrafters event on April 28 and she revealed that she supports Donald despite the fact he publicly bashed President Barack Obama. She credits Donald for the President finally revealing his official birth certificate on April 27, and she believes Obama coming to New York this week shows he isn’t doing his job in the Oval Office.

“This country is f**king falling apart and I think we need to take a stand,” Joan says. “I don’t think President Obama should be in New York raising money for an election that is two years away. I think he should be somewhere in California or somewhere in Washington and worrying about what’s going on in the Middle East. I’m really not interested in him doing a fund- raising dinner — and I voted for him! I think President Obama should go back to the White House and work.”

Many believe that Donald was way out of line for saying things like: “there’s a lot we don’t know about this guy,” when referring to the President, for repeatedly saying he had “terrible grades” in school and mocking his Harvard and Columbia degrees. But Joan doesn’t see this as a negative, and she thinks Donald should run on the Republican ticket in 2012.

“We’re all yelling and screaming about Donald, but Donald is the one that got President Obama to do it,” Joan says. “Donald is the first man in history that got a President to show something that a President shouldn’t show. We could use Donald’s push and self confidence and total authority in a lot of our statesmen. Donald is going to shake it all up [if he runs] and it’s great. The country needs shaking up.”

When we asked Joan what trends she didn’t want to see on the Oscar red carpet, she knocked us out when she answered, “I don’t want to see Angelina Jolie with another f–king kid, I don’t want to see Jennifer Aniston say “Boo hoo hoo — he left me!” Get the f–k over it! Then the third thing I don’t want to see is Mel Gibson walking in with a rabbi.”

Joan also gave some scandalous predictions for who will best work their fashion at the Feb. 27 awards.

“Sandra Bullock is going to look real good, she will be like ‘F–k you, Jesse James.’ She will look great. Nicole Kidman will look great. Annette Bening will for sure look beautiful. She always looks good. You know, the worst will be Helena Bonham Carter. Lady Gaga should go live with her!”

Many of you are huge fans of the Bieber mop, but Joan thinks he looks like a friend of Chaz Bono — do you think she’s being too harsh?

Justin Bieber is known for two things: his trout pout and Bieber mop, but notorious loud mouthed comedian Joan Rivers isn’t a fan! HollywoodLife.com spoke to Joan at an NYC screening of Blue Valentine Dec. 13 and told us her Grandson wears the same “lesbian” haircut!

“Justin looks like a lesbian,” she exclaimed. “I’m the wrong age … I swear to God he looks like a friend of Chaz Bono‘s.”

However, Joan DID add that she kind of has to like the Bieber cut.  ”My grandson is wearing his haircut … so he’s a hottie,” she admitted.
