T. J. Ward (born Terrell Ray Ward, Jr. December 12, 1986 in San Francisco, CA) plays strong safety for the NFL’s Denver Broncos. He played college football as a walk-on for the Oregon Ducks. He was drafted 38th overall by the Cleveland Browns in 2010. He started all 16 games for the team in his rookie season but only completed eight games in 2011 due to injury. He came back with two strong seasons and which caught the eye of the Broncos, who in 2014 signed him to a four-year, $23 million contract. The same year he earned his second trip to the Pro-Bowl. In 2015 he helped lead the Broncos to the number one defense in the NFL. In Super Bowl 50, his explosive defense included four tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery en route beating the Carolina Panthers 24-10 and winning the NFL title.
