Qandeel Baloch (born Fouzia Azeem in Sindh, Pakistan on March 1, 1990) was a Pakistani social media star, who got her fame for her viral videos discussing her daily routine and various controversial issues. Qandeel first received recognition in 2013, when she appeared on Pakistan Idol. After her audition went viral, she immediately became an Internet sensation. With her newfound fame, Qandeel began posting a series of lifestyle videos that gained a lot of traction. In Mar. 2016, Qandeel received a lot of attention after she promised to strip dance for her nation and dedicate her dance to two Pakistani cricketers. On July 15, 2016, Qandeel was strangled to death while she was asleep in her parents’ home in Multan.

Personal Life:
Qandeel Baloch married Ashiq Hussain in 2008 and had one son together. The couple separated in 2010 after Qandeel claimed their relationship had turned abusive. On July 15, 2016, Qandeel was strangled to death by her brother, Waseem in her parents’ home, where she had been visiting her ill father. Her brother confessed to her murder saying she was “bringing disrepute” to the “family’s honor,” and he killed her to regain respect.
