He was a late bloomer in professional soccer, starting his career at Stocksbridge Park Steels, who were in the eighth tier of the English soccer league pyramid. He earned roughly $50 a week, while working part-time as a technician. He earned himself a move to Halifax Town, a non-league team, before moving swiftly to the Conference to play for Fleetwood Town. In 2012, Leicester City took a chance on Jamie, paying $1.5 million for his services. After helping Leicester get promoted to the Premier League, he soon became an established player for the Foxes. His breakout season came in 2015-2016 when he turned Leicester City into Premier League contenders. His performances, including scoring over 20 goals in the Premier League, earned him an England international call-up.
