If there’s one thing teens like more than vampires, it’s the ability to choose which vampire they love most of all. The Teen Choice Awards is well aware of this and has just added a “Choice Vampire” category to its 2011 roster, which once again finds The Vampire Diaries’Â Ian Somerhalder and Twilight’s Robert Pattinson locking fangs in an epic battle of undead beauty. And there’s no doubt in my mind that Ian will come out on top.

Let’s hope fans of The Vampire Diaries are as rabid about voting as they are about making the show trend on Twitter, because The CW hit is nominated in nine categories at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards! Aside from the show itself, stars Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham, Michael Trevino and Joseph Morgan also nabbed noms for their stand-out performances.
