Bio:
Sean Avery (born Sean Christopher Avery on April 10, 1980 in Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian hockey player, whose time in the NHL is remembered because of his controversial behavior on and off the ice. Prior to his career with the New York Rangers from 2009-2012, Sean played for the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings and Dallas Stars as a left winger. He finished his career with 90 goals and 247 points, but was also known for controversy throughout his career, the most notable likely being when he claimed, “It’s become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds.” He was suspended for six games for “conduct detrimental to the league or the game of hockey.” After he concluded his hockey career in 2012, Sean began working at the Lipman Agency for advertising in New York City until it closed in Sept. 2013. He’s also done modeling and owns two restaurants.

Sean has been engaged to Sports Illustrated model Hilary Rhoda since Nov. 8, 2013. On Oct. 10, 2015, Sean and Hilary got married in the Hamptons, New York.
