Norm Macdonald

Bio:
Norm Macdonald (born Norman Gene Macdonald on October 17, 1963 in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada) is a Canadian stand-up comedian, actor and writer. Norm was raised in Ottawa, Ontario. It was in Ottawa where Norm got his first start in comedy, appearing in stand-up clubs and the 1987 Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. Norm’s big break came in 1993 when he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live. Known for his impressions of Larry King, Burt Reynolds and Bob Dole, Norm also was the anchor on the long-running segment, Weekend Update. Norm’s tenure with SNL ended in 1998, after he was fired by from Weekend Update due to pressure from NBC executives. Afterward, Norm starred in the cult-comedy, Dirty Work, and lent his voice to the Dr. Dolittle movies, featuring Eddie Murphy. In 1999, Norm starred in his own short-lived series, The Norm Show (renamed Norm.) Since then, Norm has reinvented himself into a highly respected stand-up comedian. He was the final stand-up act on the Late Show With David Letterman. Norm has a recurring role as Rusty Heck in The Middle, and voices the character Pigeon on the Adult Swim show, Mike Tyson Mysteries. In Aug. 2015, Norm took over the role of Colonel Sanders from SNL alum, Darrell Hammond, in a new advertising campaign with KFC.

Norm was reportedly married to Connie Macdonald before their divorce. They had a child together, a son named Dylan. Norm is the middle child of three sons.
