Bio:
Michael Bay (born Michael Benjamin Bay in Los Angeles, Calif on February 17, 1965) is an American film director. He was raised in Los Angeles by his adoptive parents, and began his long film career at the age of fifteen when he interned for George Lucas and worked on Raiders of the Lost Ark. He graduated from Wesleyan in 1986, and directed several successful commercials before being noticed by Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson, who asked Michael to direct the 1995 film Bad Boys. He worked with Bruckheimer several more times, in films like The Rock (1996), Armageddon (1998),  Pearl Harbor (2001), and Bad Boys II (2003). His next big collaboration was with Steven Spielberg, for Transformers (2007), which performed remarkably well in the box office but earned overwhelmingly negatively reviews. The money was enough, however, to justify three more sequels — Revenge of the Fallen was released in 2009, Dark of the Moon in 2011, and Age of Extinction is set to come out in 2014.
Best Known For:
Michael Bay is best known for making things that go “boom” — he’s directed everything from Transformers to Armageddon to Bad Boys to Pearl Harbor. He’s also known for getting into a very public argument with actress Megan Fox in 2009, after Fox compared him to Hitler and said he was a nightmare to work with during the first two Transformers movies. Fox was later fired from the second sequel in the franchise.
Personal Life:
Michael Bay splits his time between Los Angeles and Miami. He loves dogs.
