Luke Combs is one of country music’s biggest and most influential stars. He began pursuing music after dropping out of college with less than a month left in his senior year, betting entirely on his songwriting and live-show hustle. His gamble paid off quickly: Luke earned his breakthrough in 2017 with “Hurricane,” his first release on a major label, which topped the charts and launched his debut album, This One’s for You. The record produced several No. 1 hits, including “When It Rains It Pours,” “Beautiful Crazy,” and “She Got the Best of Me.” He followed it with his sophomore album, What You See Is What You Get, in 2019, further cementing his place at the top of the country genre.

Throughout his career, Luke has earned multiple CMA Awards and ACM Awards, along with two Grammy nominations. In recent years, his star has only risen higher. In 2025, he earned a nomination for Entertainer of the Year at the CMA Awards and made headlines after surpassing Garth Brooks to become the best-selling country artist of all time with over 168 million RIAA-certified units. He also released his new single, “Back in the Saddle,” the lead track from his upcoming sixth studio album, and teased a major announcement that fans believe hints at a large-scale tour or residency.

Beyond his career success, Luke has been open about his personal life. He and his wife, Nicole Combs (née Hocking), whom he married in 2020 after dating since 2016, are expanding their family once again — they’re expecting their third child, joining sons Tex Lawrence and Beau Lee. Luke also recently shared his experience living with a “particularly wicked” form of OCD, opening up about the challenges and the ways he’s learned to manage it.
