Celebrities aren’t always safe in the wild. Here’s the stars who have been attacked at concerts, award shows, and more.

Ava Max

Ava Max — Ava Max was slapped on-stage during a concert in Los Angeles on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. She claimed that the fan had ‘scratched’ the inside of her eye as a result of hitting her.

Drake

Drake — Drake had to dodge objects not once, but several times in Jul. 2023. During his concert in Chicago at the top of the month the rapper was hit by a cellphone after a fan threw it on stage. Later, on Jul. 20, the “Hotline Bling” hitmaker roasted a fan after they threw a vape pen on stage during his performance at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. He told the fan that they had “some real-life evaluating to do,” for tossing the object at him.

Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber — Justin Bieber was performing in Dubai in 2013 when a fan rushed onstage and grabbed the pop star from behind. Justin got away but the piano was knocked over in the process. Security detained the fan and Justin finished his concert.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus — In 2019, Miley Cyrus was attacked by a fan in Barcelona while she was trying to get through a crowd of fans with her then-husband Liam Hemsworth. The man groped and kissed Miley, before her security team intervened and got her to safety.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift — Taylor Swift was grabbed by a fan on stage during her 1989 concert in Edmonton, Alberta in August 2015. Taylor was unharmed in the incident and continued on with the show like a pro.

Beyonce & JAY-Z

Beyonce & JAY-Z — Beyonce & JAY-Z were performing their tour in 2018 in Atlanta when a man rushed on the stage. Luckily, security got the person away from the stars. He was arrested and charged with simple battery and disorderly misconduct.

Dave Chappelle

Dave Chappelle — Dave Chappelle was attacked by a fan at the Hollywood Bowl in LA in May 2022. The fan rushed onto the stage and tackled Dave. The attacker was arrested but wasn’t charged with a crime.

Chris Rock

Chris Rock — Nobody will ever forget when Will Smith smacked Chris Rock in the face at the 2022 Academy Awards. Will got on stage and hit Chris because of a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith. Chris didn’t file charges against Will, but Will was banned from the Academy’s functions for 10 years.

Kelsea Ballerini

Kelsea Ballerini — Kelsea Ballerini was performing on her Heartfirst Tour on June 28, 2023 when a fan threw a bracelet at her onstage. She was hit in the face by the object and had to turn away from the crowd to recover. She did not finish singing the song that she was in the middle of performing, but later came back onstage and urged the crowd to keep things safe in the future.

Bebe Rexha — It’s dangerous sometimes to be famous — especially when you’re out in the wild. From concerts to award shows, some of the biggest celebrities in Hollywood have been attacked, though thankfully the incidents aren’t fatal. The people responsible for these attacks have ranged from other celebrities to fans. And they almost always face the consequences for their actions.

Bebe Rexha experienced a frightening on stage incident during her concert in New York on June 18. A man in the audience threw his phone right at Bebe’s face, and she immediately collapsed on the stage, and had to be rushed away. Bebe had to get stiches, while the man was arrested and charged with assault. Thankfully, Bebe is okay now. But she’s not the first — and probably won’t be the last — celebrity to be attacked on stage. Here’s who else it’s happened to.
