Bio:
Steve Lombardi (born Steve Lombardi on April 18, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan), is an Italian-American WWE wrestler and promoter. Steve joined the WWE in 1983 as a wrestler, and transitioned into becoming an agent in the 1990s. He also created and produced commercials and promos for the WWE. Steve got his start in wrestling after watching a WWF match at Madison Square Garden, and subsequently taking judo classes in hopes of getting his shot at joining the league. He got in, and started wrestling for the WWF/WWE under the name Bobby Heenan, and took on the persona of the Brooklyn Brawler. He had several other brief spells under different personas: Kim Chee, Doink the Clown, and Knuckleball when he was under the name Abe Schwartz. He was the first opponent of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and his father, Rocky Johnson. In May 2016, it was announced that Steve had been released by the WWE after over 30 years with the organization.

While he was born in Detroit, he was raised in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, with his three siblings. His mother wrote in his baby book, “Steve is always wrestling with his brothers. I think when he gets older, he’s going to be a wrestler.”
