Sofia Hellqvist (born Sofia Kristina Hellqvist Bernadotte on Dec. 6, 1984 in Täby, Sweden) is the Duchess of Värmland, and the wife of Prince Carl Philip, Duke of Värmland. She studied accounting and computer application at the Institute of English and Business in New York. She moved to study in Stockholm, where she worked part-time as a waitress and glamour/erotic model. Her big break as a model came when she was 20, modeling for men’s magazine Slitz, where she famously posed topless with a boa constrictor around her body. She was voted Miss Slitz in 2004 for the spread, which landed her a reality TV show called Paradise Hotel. After the show ended, she moved to New York where she started her own yoga studio in Manhattan. She began a relationship with Prince Carl Philip in 2010, and has been in the spotlight for their romance ever since.

Sofia’s relationship with Prince Carl Philip began in 2010. They moved to a private estate together in 2011, and in June 2014 they announced their engagement. Sofia and Carl Philip tied the knot on June 13, 2015.
