If you found yourself scratching your head during much of The Vampire Diaries‘ Nov. 7 episode, don’t feel too bad. It just means that, unlike most of the show’s characters, you’re human! It was a super-confusing hour, full of doppelgangers and “anchors” and Snooki references — and by the end, a familiar face returned to Mystic Falls to throw a nasty wrench in the gang’s plan to resurrect Bonnie (Kat Graham).
We never thought Paul Wesley could outdo himself after dressing up as Ian Somerhalder for Halloween in 2010, but lo and behold, he teamed up with Nina Dobrev this year for a two-person costume of epic proportions. Though The Vampire Diaries duo didn’t explicitly reveal who they were supposed to be, Nina tweeted a picture Oct. 27, and most fans guessed they were Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez!
Stefan (Paul Wesley) thought that losing his memory was a cruel twist of fate, but on the Oct. 24 episode of The Vampire Diaries, he discovered that remembering the truth about his checkered past with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) was far worse.
With Stefan’s memory currently on the mend, The Vampire Diaries‘ long-standing love triangle is on a temporary hiatus — or so we thought! It sounds like Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) feelings for Elena (Nina Dobrev) will soon return, if they ever really went away at all, and they’ll inspire him to make “a heartbreaking confession” to Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena on the show’s Nov. 14 episode.
It’s always nice to see the Salvatore brothers getting along — even if it is because one of them has amnesia. In this clip from the Oct. 24 episode of The Vampire Diaries, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) come together over shots; and as always, wherever the Salvatores find themselves, Elena (Nina Dobrev) is never far behind!
The Vampire Diaries‘ Oct. 17 episode didn’t just expand the series’ mythology; it totally changed the dynamic of the show, propelling it from a simple vampire drama to a full-blown epic vampire love story. Learning that fate is working to reunite Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan (Paul Wesley), and that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is literally fighting everyone’s collective destiny by being with her, was a brilliant twist for this show. The romantic stakes have never been higher, and I’ve never been more unsure of where Elena’s feelings truly lie. (I mean where they currently lie, of course, because that girl flip-flops more than the footwear of the same name.)
Remember the good ol’ days, when Nina Dobrev only had to play TWO characters on The Vampire Diaries? As of the Oct. 17 episode, those days are long gone, thanks to the introduction of Amara. Of course, that was somehow the least shocking part of the episode, which featured a major revelation about Elena’s future with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) — or lack thereof — and a delightfully soapy twist for Stefan (Paul Wesley).
