Paul Kantner (born Paul Lorin Kantner on March 17, 2021 in San Francisco, CA) is an American singer and guitarist. The legendary musician was most famous for co-founding psychedelic rock band Jefferson Airplane, as well as it’s spin-off project Jefferson Spaceship. Marty Balin originally started the band, but Paul was the leader through it’s most successful period in the late 60’s. Between the two bands, he is the longest continual member and made music for 5 decades. He sadly passed away from organ failure on Jan. 28, 2016.

Personal Life:
Paul was born to Paul and Cora Lee Kantner. His mother died when he was young, and he became anti-authority in his teen years when he decided to be a folk musician. Through the years he came to consider himself a political anarchist, and advocated the use of drugs like LSD for mind expansion and spiritual growth. He was continuously supportive of the legalization of marijuana, while he hated alcohol and cocaine. He had three children. He passed away on Jan. 28, 2016 of organ failure and septic shock related to an earlier heart attack.
