Bio:
Michael Hutchence (born January 22, 1960, Crows Nest, Australia) was the lead singer of Australian pop-rock band INXS. He grew up in Hong Kong and then Sydney, AUS where he attended Davidson High School. It was there that he met best pal Andrew Farriss and formed a band with him and his brothers Tim and Jon, with Michael as the lead singer in 1977. The Farriss Brothers would then morph into INXS by 1980 and score their first Australian top 40 hit. They broke through in 1984 with the album The Swing and the success of the single “What You Need.” In 1987 they released the worldwide smash Kick which yielded such smash hits as “New Sensation”, “Never Tear Us Apart”, “Devil Inside” and No. 1 “Need You Tonight.” Their final album Elegantly Wasted came out in 1996.

Personal Life:
Michael fell in love with British TV host Paula Yates while she was still married to Live Aid founder Bob Geldof in 1995. In the summer of 1996 uly, Paula gave birth to Michael’s only child, daughter Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence. During the final leg of the band’s 20th anniversary tour, Michael was found dead on Nov. 22, 1997 from an apparent suicide in a Sydney hotel room after hanging himself while under the influence of drugs and alcohol. He was only 37-years-old.
