Bio:
Melissa Joan Hart (born April 18, 1976 in Smithtown, New York) is an American actress, television director and producer. She was a child actress, who began acting at age four, and starred in numerous TV commercials throughout her childhood. Melissa then made the transition to television and movies, taking on roles small roles. In 1991, she landed the starring role on the Nickelodeon series Clarissa Explains It All, and received positive response from critics. After the series ended she attended NYU, but dropped out when she was offered the title role in the TV movie Sabrina the Teenage Witch, which was then followed by a television series. She made her directorial debut in an episode of Disney’s So Weird, and in 2001 and 2002 she directed six episodes of Sabrina. In 2010, Melissa returned to television and starred on the sitcom Melissa and Joey, which was canceled in 2015 after four seasons.
