Leon Bridges (born Todd Michael Bridges on July 13, 1989 in Fort Worth, Texas) is a soul and R&B singer who hit the scene in 2015 with the release of his first album, called Coming Home; it was named one of the 50 Best Albums of 2015 by Rolling Stone. His early singles, “Coming Home,” and “Better Man,” a vintage doo-wop number, got him major radio airplay. Leon’s old-school sound and fashion sense have set him apart from the pack, with comparisons to Otis Redding and Sam Cooke. In December 2015, Leon performed on the Ryan Gosling-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live, performing both “Smooth Sailin” and River.”
